Punch Rare Corojo

Good evening folks... This mild cigar was smoked on September 10th. It came in a glass torpedo tube with a cork. Pretty neat! It had a good even burn. Lasted about 45 minutes. Probably the mildest cigar I ever had. I liked it! From what I recall, the buzzzzz was not as big. But, my mouth didn't taste like an old shoe in the morning either. Haha.

I'm sleepy... Nap time! Cheers!

Partagas 1845

Okay. This is bad. My quest for finding a good cigar that I totally enjoy is causing me to smoke more. I've also been doing budgets at work. Hmmm... Lets blame it on that...

1 successful rescue attempt was made on this baby as I was reading a chapter of: "A purpose Driven Life". I guess I got into it. The author focuses on God and pushes aside worldly posessions that give one a temporary feeling of drive and success. I can relate. My most memorable moments are when I'm with friends and loved ones and playing music. The toys fade over time. (But I still like em! Heck, I played Everquest 2 for 3 years! With friends and loved ones! The memories came from the things we did together, not from the actual gameplay... Hmmm...)

I also enjoy running. A constant cigar habit probably will not support that. But, once every few weeks should be ok. I'm gonna cut down.

Cigars... I like the buzz. I like the activity. Some smell good. Cuban's and Dominican's rock. If only there was a cigar that didn't give you potty mouth the morning after... I'm still testing... :)

My favorite "flavored" cigar is the Drew Estate Java. If offered, I wont turn it down...

This baby had a semi uneven burn and lasted for an hour. Good 'nuf for me.

Don Tomas

I asked Vicki to sort through the small stash of cigars I currently have and pick one for me to burn while having a magarita with her on the screened in porch. She pulled each one out individually, sniffed, and came up with good ol' Don Thomas. This Maduro burned evenly once lit correctly and lasted about 45 minutes. Having no distraction besides conversation with Vicki, I was cranking on this one more than I usually do. I'd invite Don out on the porch again...

Punch

This morning I spent an hour cutting the lawn and feeling sad about my last cigar. (The Oliva Serie G that died on me...) I usually make it a point not to do more than 1 every few weeks/months so I don't get addicted.

But, dagnabbit! I was robbed!

After the "G" disaster I went to the store and bought several cigars that I never had before. My goal is to test them out and see what I really like.

After cutting the lawn, I dropped down on the deck, lit up the pictured "Punch", and started blogging about terrorists.

This baby lasted over an hour and was pretty good. I'm no Cigar Aficionado, but I do subscribe to the magazine. (Thanks to Scot and DeAnn - It was my Christmas gift last year along with a Humidor...)

Oliva Serie G

I typically cherish the products created by the Oliva family but I did not have much luck with the "Serie G" the other day. My typical cigar enjoying style is to take a drag, do stuff for a few minutes, take another drag, do more stuff, repeat...

I'm not sure what was going on but I had to make 5 to 6 rescue attempts to keep this one lit. Attempt 7 was a failure and I lost over half of the cigar. (I don't re-light. Even with the recommended re-lighting techniques, cigars are never the same after going out...)

I've had good luck with the V and the O. Maybe I was keeping the cigar down longer than I realized... It's worth another try at a later date... This picture was taken 2 days later in the morning. What you see is the remainder. There's plenty left...
